Will OpenAI acquire Google Chrome by the end of 2026?

This event predicts whether OpenAI will acquire Google Chrome (the web browser) at any time between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026 (inclusive). For this market, an acquisition means a binding agreement transferring ownership or control of Chrome to OpenAI. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be official announcements by OpenAI or Alphabet/Google confirming such a transaction.
If OpenAI and Alphabet/Google announce a binding agreement transferring ownership or control of Chrome to OpenAI during this period, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Letters of intent, negotiations, or media rumors without a binding agreement will not count. If official announcements are unclear, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major technology or financial news organizations. Resolution will reflect the substantive transfer of ownership or control, not speculative discussions. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
