Alphabet forced to spin off advertising operations by the end of June 2026?

Market Rules

This event predicts whether Alphabet Inc. (Google) will be forced by a U.S. court order or binding settlement to separate (“spin off”) its online advertising operations or divest core ad-tech components by June 30, 2026. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be the relevant U.S. court docket and the text of any final, binding judgment, order, or court-approved settlement that requires such a separation/divestiture.

If, on or before June 30, 2026, a U.S. court issues (or approves) a binding legal requirement that compels Alphabet/Google to spin off advertising operations or divest ad-tech technologies powering its advertising business, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Lawsuits, allegations, or non-binding proposals alone do not qualify, and voluntary restructurings do not count unless required by a binding legal instrument. If court documentation is not readily accessible or is ambiguous, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major, reputable financial/legal news organizations (e.g., Reuters) describing the binding requirement. Resolution will follow the substantive legal obligation, not minor procedural technicalities; if a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
