Mahmoud Abbas still President of the Palestinian Authority through the end of 2026?

Market Rules

This event predicts whether Mahmoud Abbas will remain in office as President of the Palestinian Authority through December 31, 2026. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be official announcements or records from the Palestinian Authority regarding the presidency.

If Mahmoud Abbas officially remains President of the Palestinian Authority through the end of December 31, 2026, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". If he loses an election, resigns, or is formally removed before that date, the market will resolve to "No" at the moment of the public announcement. If his authority is disputed but he continues to claim and exercise the office, Futuur may use its discretion to assess whether this constitutes continued officeholding. If official records are unclear, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major international news organizations. Resolution will reflect the substantive holding of the office, not political disputes alone. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
